A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company that operates it. That provider handles the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our own systems.

The site explains how to reach the Emmet County Sheriff's Office, Iowa District Court, the Iowa DPS Division of Criminal Investigation repository, and the Iowa Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. A partner's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices govern information submitted to its tool. We do not control those practices, so review the provider's policy before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff, court, state agency, legal-aid, or outside search websites. Once you leave this site, the destination's own privacy terms control. Review them before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use activity across websites to select ads. That tracking takes place on their systems rather than ours.

Personal data is not sold. It may be available to:

Iowa Code chapter 22 governs records held by public bodies, while chapter 692 controls dissemination of criminal-history data; neither turns this private site's visitor data into a government record.
